This is the perfect feel good smoothie. It’s full of vital vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants that boost mood, energy levels and fight against depression.
Spinach and kale for example, are high in vitamin B and folate, which fight against depression; and are also high in iron so can protect against fatigue and anemia. Plus, the blueberries are full of antioxidants and also promote neurogenesis, which is important for building new brain cells and fighting depression. They also make the body feel calmer and better equipped to cope with stress; and, like the oranges, are full of vitamin C, which is important for keeping all of the body’s cells healthy and increasing energy levels.
Add this to the fact that this smoothie contains pumpkin seeds (i.e. contain important amino acids inc. tryptophan which creates serotonin and is vital for regulating mood; and melatonin, which improves sleep quality) and you’ll feel happier, more energized and better than you’ve felt in ages. 1 Orange, peeled
1 cup Kale
1 cup Spinach
1 cup Blueberries
1tbsp Pumpkin seeds
Water (dilute to required consistency)
1. Add all the ingredients to the blender and whizz away. Simple!
