Dr. Ryland Morgans is the Performance Director at Everton FC, where he leads on all aspects relating to the team's physical and technical match performance. This includes: fitness; injury prevention; recovery, rehabilitation and load management; scientific research into players' hormonal, neuromuscular and immunological recovery responses over the season (and during intensive fixture schedules); and more.
Among his many accolades, Ryland is a fully qualified UEFA Pro and A Licence Coach and Educator; has full accreditation with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA); and, recently, his hard work and talents were commended when he won the prestigious Football Association (FA) Fitness Trainers Award. He also has a PhD in Football Science and is an active researcher of sports medicine and football perfomance; the findings of which have been published in over 30 peer reviewed papers and academic journals.
'Prior to Everton FC, Ryland worked with football teams including Nottingham Forest, Fulham, Swansea City, Liverpool, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace, helping them to gain domestic promotion in every division. He was also the Head of Performance for the Welsh national team for 8 years.'
