The Best Hotel To Stay At In Rome – And It WILL Surprise You!

by Travelling Peach

‘Rome is a fantastic city. There’s so much to do and see and everything is in walking distance (if you don’t mind a walk!) so it’s definitely worth visiting. However, be careful when booking hotels as what is rated as 4* in other countries (and has the 4* price tag) does not always follow through in Italy and this could lead to disappointment. Many people are tempted to go for character and authentic Italian quaintness when booking a hotel, they want the whole experience, which is understandable; however my advice is that, unless you know the area and have stayed at the hotel before, DON'T!'

Staying At The NH Collection Roma Giustiniano
Yes, it can be perceived as clinical but, if you’re staying for a mini-break or business, it’s perfect. The rooms are spacious and clean, with separate living areas; the service is great; and, even better, it’s literally in the center of everything you could ever want to visit. The Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica are 10 minutes walk away in one direction, with all of the main shopping areas such as Via Dei Condotti and cultural attractions such as The Coliseum less than 20 minutes walk; and, if you walk in the other direction, you’ll find a brilliant street with a wealth of high street shops and fabulous Italian restaurants at the end of the road.

Other facilities include:

  • Free, fast broadband Wi-Fi
  • Complementary gym
  • An impressive breakfast with hot options such as scrambled eggs and bacon (and when we say hot, we mean hot. Not like the luke warm excuses you can sometimes find at other hotels!); impressive fountains of donuts, pastries and muffins; and healthy options such as freshly squeezed ‘super-food’ juices (e.g. cucumber, kale and mango, with sunflower seeds); goji berries, nuts and seeds; porridge; fresh jams and breads; and more. It really is one of the best breakfasts we’ve found anywhere – which, when you consider NH Collection is a chain of hotels, was pleasantly surprising.

(Prices for a Junior Suite start at £245 / night incl. breakfast)
